Hello beautiful! Happy New Year!!!
What are you inspiring to be this year? What do you want to accomplish?
The most successful people have a morning ritual to start their day. What is a morning ritual? It's a daily routine to kick start your day in the right direction. It helps you focus on what you truly desire. A morning ritual has a powerful impact on the rest of your day.
Let's start with what the majority of people do to start their day AND see if this resonates with you. The majority of humans start their morning by turning off their alarm numerous times and immediately start scrolling through their phones, or turn on the TV. Do any of these sound familiar?
When you start your day with these rituals you are starting in a reactive mode. Which can put you on the defense. Have you had days where one thing after the another go wrong? Oh, I totally know that feeling.
A morning ritual sets our day up for success. Even if things go wrong, will we not be in a reactive mode. We will be grounded and centered.
So, how do we do this? I'll give you examples of successful people and YOU decide which ritual feels right to you.
Oprah Winfrey starts her day with 20 minutes of mediation then hits the treadmill.
Tim Ferris starts his day by making his bed, it fills him up with a small sense of pride and accomplishment, then he meditates for 20 minutes followed by a light exercise and journaling.
Steve jobs would look at himself in the mirror, locking eyes with himself and ask, "If today was the last day of my life, would I'd be happy with what I'm about to do today?" If the answer was "NO" too many days in a row, he knew something needed to change.
Mel Robbins high fives her self in the mirror every morning. She says we are all looking at ourselves and thinking ewwww. But high-fiving trains her mind in a neuropathic way because of the touch, you're actually stimulating the mind to look at the person in the mirror and cheering them on. Don't critique that person in the mirror.
Tony Robbins ritual is called priming.
1. Perform 3 sets of 30 breaths of fire.
Breath of fire in breathing in and out through the nose (or mouth). Pulling the abdomen in towards the diaphragm during the exhalation and out during inhalation. This is very fast, as fast as 2 or 3 times per second, and also very loud. The breath is through your abdomen, not your lungs. Your belly is visibly moving up and down.
2. Close your eyes and slow your breathing while expressing gratitude for everything you have.
3. Pray and ask for help, guidance and strength throughout your day.
Tony says, "If you don't have 10 minutes to spare to work on yourself every morning then you don't have a life." Ponder that for a minute.
Out of all these examples which one could you start with? Which one calls to you? Small simple steps promise to start to build the muscle for discipline. Then, my friends, you'll start to do it in other areas of your life. You are a CREATOR of your life, not a manager of your circumstances. Decide what to focus on. Where focus goes energy flows.
Remember to be kind to yourself. If you fall off the wagon- No problem! Pick up tomorrow morning.
I hope this info gives you a gold nugget that you can implement in your own life.
Until next time laugh, love and be uniquely you. See you on the flip side.
